Year 4’s Sutton Hoo Adventure
On Tuesday 26th April, Year 4 headed off to Sutton Hoo in Suffolk to learn more about the Anglo-Saxons and to see many of the items (or replicas) found in the burial ground. We had discussed the treasure and burial mound in class but it was so much more exciting to see the actual place and get a feel for the area. Our Children had the opportunity to try on traditional clothes and of course the most famous of helmets.
Although it was a long journey and the weather was not great (horizontal sleet and gusting winds), the children were great and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
