Children are given the opportunity to develop their musical skills and knowledge in a variety of ways.
Music has a power of forming the character and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young. (Aristotle)
Welcome to our web page all about Music in our school. We are proud to be an Arts Mark school and really value creative and cultural education.
Every child in our school takes part in a weekly Key Stage music assembly and every year in July we host our very own community festival ‘De Hav Fest’. All of our classes have music lessons with a specialist music teacher and we have a dedicated music space. We have a range of instruments including class sets of: Djembe drums, ukuleles, glockenspiels and bamboo tamboo, as well as host of other instruments.
Our Building Futures Curriculuminsures we fulfill the National Curriculum and more. Teachers carefully weave musical learning and learning behaviours together so our children develop a life long love of learning and have the skills they need to be successful.
We are planning to extend our children’s opportunities this year by working with other local schools to produce a festival of music.
