Cold Weather

Admittedly, the weather has been distinctly mild and rather wet recently, but I would like to remind you of our severe weather plans. In the event of severe weather, we will always try our absolute best to keep the school open, as long as it is safe to do so. In the event of a school closure we will use the following means of communication to say that the school is closed:

School Comms – you will receive a text message (please ensure we have your current mobile number)

Herts Direct

In such circumstances, we will make a decision as early in the morning as possible to allow a fair assessment of the conditions to be made and to allow families enough time to make alternative arrangements. In the event of extreme weather forcing a closure during the school day, the same communication methods will be used. In such an event, all children will be kept safe and warm in school until they are collected.

In all but the worst conditions, we still aim to get the children outside so that they can enjoy time out of the classroom. Please ensure that your child has suitably warm clothing and an appropriate coat and that the clothing is named. We have a small mountain of un-named and unclaimed lost property.
