Bringing Books to Life!

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to bring books to life with west end in schools. This year, the book chosen was the BFG/ Big Friendly Giant, by Roald Dahl. Before lunch, 4B went down to the lower hall to meet Alice who was going to teach us how to act out the BFG. After our warm up we started to bring the BFG to life.

In the beginning, all of us were asleep apart from one child acting as Sophie and another, acting as the BFG. Suddenly, we all grabbed an invisible Sophie and started running towards Giant Country. Feeling scared, we all tucked inside a snozzcumber trying to hide from the big scary giants. After that, we split into three groups.

One of them, made a snap shot of the queens bedroom with children for: the wardrobe, the bed, the maid, the queen, Sophie and the BFG.

The next group was serving breakfast with Sophie, the BFG, the queen and the maid.

The final group performed the last scene, where the giants got captured with helicopters, 4 giants and soldiers.

Last of all, we all pretended we were very angry giants trying to get out of the pit. We chucked down some horrible snozzcumber for them to eat. Finally, we did a salute.

We love this drama and dance interpretation of The BFG, it was one of our highlights of the week!
